Current Everyday Makeup Favourites | Beauty

I know there are a LOT of these posts out there but I really wanted to share with you all my favourite products from my daily make up routine. I do use a lot of different products on a full face day so I won’t go through everything but I have recently found a selection of products that just work for me. I will be doing a video for this with all the products I use at some point in the near future but for now lets just stick with the faves… Above is my everyday face and below are a few products that I just can’t go without!

Favourite Base Products:

1 – Benefit POREfessional primer. This stuff has been my holy grail product for a few years now, its a real game changer! It leaves my skin feeling soft and looking smooth which is perfect for a matte primer.

2 – NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. I was recently introduced to this foundation by one of my favourite people, Louise, and she has to me completely hooked on this stuff! Its a matte foundation and it has such a beautiful finish. It has quite a watery consistency but its high coverage and really pigmented so it feels good on the skin and covers up imperfections really well even before concealer!

3 – L.A. Girl Pro Concealer. I’d seen this around for a while before finally deciding to give it a go myself. I’ve never really been one for cream contouring until now. This product is the perfect contour concealer, it blends really nicely and isn’t too much of a warm toned brown so it doesn’t go orange. Its also super cheap to buy from amazon and its lasting me ages so really worth a try.

4 – NARS Laguna Bronzer. This is another product that Louise has recently introduced me too and once again, I’m completely obsessed! This bronzer is the perfect shade for my skin and gives me a healthy bit of colour. Its a cool toned brown so also works really well as a contour shade for my lazy day make up routines. Its quite pigmented compared to a few other bronzers I’ve used recently so its lasting me a long time and lasts all day on your face too.

Thos are my four base favourites, I usually mix up my highlighting concealers, translucent powders and I don’t always wear blush so i left those ones out! On to the brows, eyes and lips!

Favourite Brow, Eyes & Lip Products:

1 – Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil. This is a new product in my make up bag and this one is only a tester which is why its tiny. Goof Proof is perfect for uneven or sparse brows because the pencil is super soft and angled so you can create the illusion of more brow hairs with the right strokes. The packaging is also really pretty which is always a plus?!

2 – Benefit Ready, Set, Brow! Setting Gel. I’ll be real, this stuff has saved my life. My brows can get a bit all over the place and messy if they’re not set so this stuff is the perfect solution to tame them. It’s a clear get and is quick drying which is helpful when I’m in a rush (almost always). I also like to use this when I don’t fill in my brows, just to keep their shape and to avoid them going all crazy.

3 – Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Palette. For an every day palette, every single colour in this mini set is just perfection! It has a brow highlight shade, a lovely light base, a perfect crease shade and 2 darker shades for more vampy days. It also has a good brow shade if you’re into that! I used “Primal” from this palette on my brows for a while and loved it. Its also the perfect travel size kit, Im constantly travelling around at the moment so is nice to have something that covers every colour I need for every day and also fits in my travel make up bag.

4 – Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub. Now this is an oldie but a goodie. I use this every single time before applying lipstick because it exfoliates my lips and moisturised them, making the application smooth and easy. This product is especially good before matte lip products which I wear a lot of. I rediscovered this a while ago and have used it nearly every day since. It also tastes unreal!

5 – NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bahama. Im loving dark matte nude lipsticks at the moment and this is by far my favourite. I have a slightly lighter one which is more of an everyday looking colour but Bahama is slightly more vampy looking and I’m really into it! Its quite a dark, cool nude but it looks beautiful on and lasts all day. The formula is really nice too, it isn’t super drying and feels really soft on the lips. If you can get your hands on any of the Velvet Matte collection then do try some out!

So those are all of my current everyday make up favourites, I hope you enjoyed having a little read. Let me know if you try any of them out and love them like I do! What are some of your holy grail products? I’d love to hear from you all!

Until next time my loves

Rhinoplasty: The Consultations

Hey friends! I wanted to do a few posts to explain the process of my rhinoplasty because there are a lot of blog posts and videos on recovery but not so many on what the consultation process is like…. So from the top! I booked a consultation with transform back in October 2015. I put my details in on their website and I was surprised to get a call from them within MINUTES of me clicking the “book” button which I was super impressed with. I spoke to a lovely lady called Tracey, we had a nice little natter about what I’m looking to change, when I was wanted to do it and what the next steps would be.

I then went up to the New Cavendish Street Clinic in London for my initial consultation with a patient care co-ordinator and I was a little nervous but mostly excited. It felt weird because I was finally starting this process that I had wanted for so long! I met Tiffany, my patient care co-ordinator and she was lovely! She answered all of my questions, it was so helpful to finally meet someone who totally understood what I wanted and why I wanted it. We discussed the cost, possible dates for the procedure and the surgeon she thought would be best for me. Its nice to have a patient care co-ordinator who’s previously had the procedure herself because she knew exactly how I felt and the journey that I was about to go on. I was paired with Dr Lahoud who is one of the best in the business and a top surgeon at Transform! I went ahead and booked a consultation with him for two months time which was in December. I felt so at ease when I left my consultation with Tiffany, I had all my questions answered and I knew I could start to focus and get saving!

On my surgeon’s consultation day with Dr Lahoud, we went through every detail of the procedure and agreed on a realistic and achievable outcome. The whole meeting went really well and I learned so much. First, he had a look at my nose and knew exactly what I wanted done, without me having to say a word! He went over what was achievable and what wasn’t,  possible risks, pre/post op, all of that fun stuff! We decided that he was going to shave down the bridge and refine the tip which is exactly what I was hoping for. He then took some before photos against the wall, front on and profile views so we can compare when I’m all healed! After that, we went through the process from my pre op, to the actual procedure to aftercare and I was totally happy with everything he said.

After that appointment, I went away and saved my ass off for the next few months before FINALLY booking my procedure date at the end of March for May 11th! I was then counting down the days getting more and more excited for the big day to arrive! The next appointment I made was for my pre op, which was one week before by op. Now this is the most simple appointment of the lot. You get weighed, measured and they go through all of your medical records and ask any questions they need. This is also when your official “before” photos are taken which was cool.

The last appointment I had was two days before my procedure date and this was a second surgeon’s consultation with Dr Lahoud. This isn’t something that you have to have but I just felt like I needed to go over everything one more time because it had been nearly 5 months since my first meeting with him. This time I took my dad along with me which was really nice for me to have that support. Apart from watching him squirm at the details of the operation, I think he left feeling more at ease knowing I was in good hands! (Sorry Dad!) After that I had to get home and start packing because I was going to be staying at my mum’s for a week or so whilst recovering. My next rhinoplasty post will be about the big day and recovery so stay tuned for some really attractive pictures of my swollen face 😀

(There are so many things I could talk about when it comes to my rhinoplasty journey. Everything from planning, packing, the big day, recovery, having the cast off… so much! So if anybody wants me to make a video/Q&A type thing then that could be easier… Lemme know!)

BLOG REVAMP | Introducing Lights of Luna!

Hey everyone, Im so sorry its been so long! I don’t really have a real excuse as to why I haven’t blogged in this long but Im still going to try and justify it… I had my rhinoplasty procedure a few weeks ago now so I’ve literally just been recovering and I also started a new job which is cool but all is good because I have returned better than ever and ready to produce some quality blog posts and videos (finally). There will be rhinoplasty posts to follow this one as Ive had lots of people asking for them so stay tuned for that!

Lights of Luna is the new name/personal branding for my blog & YouTube. I knew I wanted to revamp at some point so I thought why not now Im post surgery and feeling more confident and complete than ever before? The name is really just a play on words for ‘moonlight’ which was what I started off with when I was looking at names. I’ve always had a weird connection with the moon, I think its beautiful and what it symbolises really resonates with me too. If you want to know more about this then let me know. This is why I got my moon tattoo which you’ll see in my blog header! It’s symbolism and spiritual connection has a massive influence on the way I live my life which is something that not many people will know about me. So I wanted a name that will connect with me personally and Lights of Luna is what I came up with in the end!

There won’t be a massive change in terms of content, it will just be more lifestyle focused. Expect to see more beauty, travel, health & wellbeing, fitness and food posts! Now summer has arrived, I can post more and I have a lot of ideas in the making. There will also be more videos on the way which Im hoping to get more into over the next few months. Thank you for taking the time to read this, I look forward to getting back into the flow of things!
