Multi-Masking | A Quick Fix

Today Im going to be talking to you all about “multi-masking”, its benefits and my current favourite routine. Ive been seeing this new trend around for a while now and finally decided to give it a try myself. I was sceptical at first because I wasn’t sure about mixing the different masks incase it irritated my skin but looking back now I can see how stupid that was for me to think! This is the most logical way to do things!

Lets start with what it actually is. Its pretty self explanatory really, you use different masks on different areas of your face depending on what that section of your skin needs. It is the perfect way to ensure your skin is well balanced and getting all the goodness it needs to remain healthy and glowing. Think about it, different areas of your face can be different skin types right? Mine for example is oily/combination in my T-Zone but sensitive everywhere else… Take a second to think about your own skin and what each section is like? Multi-masking is the ultimate answer to this problem, simply chose a few masks that you need and apply to each part of your face that needs it… It’s that easy!

Ok so Multi-masking 101… Im currently loving this combination in the photo above which is a purifying charcoal and calming clay duo. Quick Fix Facials is a brand I discovered a while ago and I really enjoy using them. Not only are they super affordable but I can actually see the difference in my skin when I use them which is the main reason I keep reaching for them over and over again. They have a whole variety of masks and scrubs for all different skin types and you can find them in most Boots stores.

I start by applying the “Purifying Charcoal Mask” to my T-Zone area using a flat foundation brush to do so. I have found that using a brush is way more effective and hygienic (ensuring its clean before use obviously) and its also very easy to apply the mask evenly over the face. My T-Zone is where I usually get most oily throughout the day and is also where most layers of make up is applied (when using primer, foundation, highlighting concealer, powder etc) so I like to give this area of my face a deep cleanse every few days. This mask contains active charcoal which is perfect for transforming congested and lifeless skin – making this the ideal mask for my T-Zone area. The active charcoal is full of minerals which helps to draw out any dirt and toxins from the skin, leaving it feeling fresh and clear.

As you can see in the photo above, I have covered everywhere I needed the charcoal mask to be. The mask doesn’t have to be too thick but just enough to cover everywhere without leaving any gaps! Now this is where It gets fun. After cleaning your foundation brush or grabbing a new one, you can move on to the second mask.

My second mask is the “Calming Clay Mask” which is typically for sensitive and red-prone skin. As I said before, the rest of my face can get quite sensitive so this mask is perfect for soothing that but I also get a lot of red patches, especially around my cheekbone area so this will help that problem too. Now If you had a third type that you wanted to mask, you would just add that step in after this one and you’ll be good to go! This mask contains oatmeal which is used to to rehydrate and moisturise skin – this can be the cause of some redness and sensitivity. It also contains aloe vera which calms any inflammation in the skin and it also contains chamomile extract which combats redness. So all together this mask is a powerhouse for reducing redness and sensitivity in your skin, which I know can be annoying on a daily basis!

Multi-masking would be really fun with bright coloured masks! This is the finished “look” for mine. Once I’ve finished applying my masks I’ll also apply some lip balm, pour myself a glass of water and I’m ready to relax for a while. I usually leave this on for around 10 minutes and the rinse it off with a flannel and some warm water. Hot water can be harmful and irritate the skin which would undo all your hard work so remember to not make your water too hot!

Thats all for my multi-masking 101! I used these masks as part of an evening routine/get unready with me video over on my YouTube channel which you can watch here. I hope this was helpful for you and I hope you enjoyed reading! Let me know your favourite face masks and remember to head over to my YouTube and subscribe! See you all again soon – Stay cute x

Current Everyday Makeup Favourites | Beauty

SAMSUNG CSC

I know there are a LOT of these posts out there but I really wanted to share with you all my favourite products from my daily make up routine. I do use a lot of different products on a full face day so I won’t go through everything but I have recently found a selection of products that just work for me. I will be doing a video for this with all the products I use at some point in the near future but for now lets just stick with the faves… Above is my everyday face and below are a few products that I just can’t go without!

SAMSUNG CSC

Favourite Base Products:

1 – Benefit POREfessional primer. This stuff has been my holy grail product for a few years now, its a real game changer! It leaves my skin feeling soft and looking smooth which is perfect for a matte primer.

2 – NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. I was recently introduced to this foundation by one of my favourite people, Louise, and she has to me completely hooked on this stuff! Its a matte foundation and it has such a beautiful finish. It has quite a watery consistency but its high coverage and really pigmented so it feels good on the skin and covers up imperfections really well even before concealer!

3 – L.A. Girl Pro Concealer. I’d seen this around for a while before finally deciding to give it a go myself. I’ve never really been one for cream contouring until now. This product is the perfect contour concealer, it blends really nicely and isn’t too much of a warm toned brown so it doesn’t go orange. Its also super cheap to buy from amazon and its lasting me ages so really worth a try.

4 – NARS Laguna Bronzer. This is another product that Louise has recently introduced me too and once again, I’m completely obsessed! This bronzer is the perfect shade for my skin and gives me a healthy bit of colour. Its a cool toned brown so also works really well as a contour shade for my lazy day make up routines. Its quite pigmented compared to a few other bronzers I’ve used recently so its lasting me a long time and lasts all day on your face too.

Thos are my four base favourites, I usually mix up my highlighting concealers, translucent powders and I don’t always wear blush so i left those ones out! On to the brows, eyes and lips!

SAMSUNG CSC

Favourite Brow, Eyes & Lip Products:

1 – Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil. This is a new product in my make up bag and this one is only a tester which is why its tiny. Goof Proof is perfect for uneven or sparse brows because the pencil is super soft and angled so you can create the illusion of more brow hairs with the right strokes. The packaging is also really pretty which is always a plus?!

2 – Benefit Ready, Set, Brow! Setting Gel. I’ll be real, this stuff has saved my life. My brows can get a bit all over the place and messy if they’re not set so this stuff is the perfect solution to tame them. It’s a clear get and is quick drying which is helpful when I’m in a rush (almost always). I also like to use this when I don’t fill in my brows, just to keep their shape and to avoid them going all crazy.

3 – Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Palette. For an every day palette, every single colour in this mini set is just perfection! It has a brow highlight shade, a lovely light base, a perfect crease shade and 2 darker shades for more vampy days. It also has a good brow shade if you’re into that! I used “Primal” from this palette on my brows for a while and loved it. Its also the perfect travel size kit, Im constantly travelling around at the moment so is nice to have something that covers every colour I need for every day and also fits in my travel make up bag.

4 – Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub. Now this is an oldie but a goodie. I use this every single time before applying lipstick because it exfoliates my lips and moisturised them, making the application smooth and easy. This product is especially good before matte lip products which I wear a lot of. I rediscovered this a while ago and have used it nearly every day since. It also tastes unreal!

5 – NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bahama. Im loving dark matte nude lipsticks at the moment and this is by far my favourite. I have a slightly lighter one which is more of an everyday looking colour but Bahama is slightly more vampy looking and I’m really into it! Its quite a dark, cool nude but it looks beautiful on and lasts all day. The formula is really nice too, it isn’t super drying and feels really soft on the lips. If you can get your hands on any of the Velvet Matte collection then do try some out!

So those are all of my current everyday make up favourites, I hope you enjoyed having a little read. Let me know if you try any of them out and love them like I do! What are some of your holy grail products? I’d love to hear from you all!

Until next time my loves

It is perfect for use all over your body and leaves your skin feeling so soft and refreshed. If you’re a coffee lover like me then you will absolutely love the smell of this scrub because ground coffee is the main ingredient in this one! Frank Body is an Australian brand and all of their products are made in Australia and vegan friendly for all you vegan babes out there! It smells INCREDIBLE, it literally smells like your scrubbing fresh ground coffee all over your body (essentially that is what you’re doing but hey!).
